Three things to do this Tattie Holidays 21st October 2019

21st October 2019

We’re halfway through the October Holidays and if you’re a parent you may be on the hunt for ways to keep your little ones entertained.

There are loads of fun kid’s events running this week throughout Aberdeen, and we’ve picked out our top three events not to miss this Autumn.

Countesswells Autumn Fair and Farmers Market
Saturday 26th October

Top of our list is the second Countesswells community fair. Join us for a day of family fun in our budding community surrounded by three beautiful autumn coloured woods.

Kids can enjoy a variety of traditional Halloween games such as bobbing for apples, pin the wart on the witch and pumpkin bean bag toss, as well as have their face painted, craft spooky creations and win prizes in our costume competition. Included in the fun and games is also the opportunity to explore the beautiful landscape around Countesswells through a pumpkin trail.

Throughout the day Garry Shand Chainsaw Sculpture will be carving incredible sculptures from wood to be placed around the town and the local onsite farmers market will be showcasing amazing local food and drink including From Bakery Lane, Symposium Coffee and Bannerman Butchers. Pick up some tasty treats and watch wood turn into woodland creatures.

Crathes Tree Rubbing Trail
Until December 1st

As the leaves begin to fall, get close to nature at Crathes Castle by exploring their tree rubbing trail. As part of the Natural Trust of Scotland’s Scottish Tree Festival kids can follow woodland walks around the castle grounds, take rubbings of historic trees in their souvenir workbook and learn about their significance to Aberdeenshire.

This fantastic outdoor learning opportunity is running until December 1st and costs £4.50 per child, however all adults are free to accompany.

CarnEVIL at Codonas
Until 2nd November

If you have older children, Codonas’ CarnEVIL is a great way to bring the family together for a thrilling end to the holidays. See if you have what it takes to make it to the end of the new haunted ‘CarnEVIL III’ experience or will you meet your fate to the horrors that lie within.

Tickets cost £15 and include a walkthrough the haunted experience, unlimited adult rides and dodgems, a session of ‘Zombies’ Laser Tag, a round of Outdoor Adventure Golf and if you book on Sundays you will receive an additional game of 10-pin bowling. With so much to do the night is sure to leave you dying with laughter.

The event is for 15+ year olds, however 12+ year olds are admitted if accompanied by an adult.
